Turboing an E34 M30?

Alright, well I have heard many things about how well the M30 handles boost. And seeing as I have just scooped up this new ride of mine, of course I'm at the constant desire for more power.

The thing I'm curious on, is the fact the motor has 163,000 miles on it. It still runs like a champ, but I do notice a small ticking coming from the head, lifter maybe? What am I looking at for costs here? I don't really want to run extreme levels of boost, not yet at least. Just something that will give me the extra kick in the pants, as well as some nice sound effects when I'm banging the gears.

Should I turbo this motor? Should I have it rebuilt first? Which kits are available? What is a good cost estimate?

I say if it has 163k on it, rebuild it first to get it running how it was, when it was new, then turbo it. If you turbo it you're going to need alot of other parts (thicker head gasket, low compression pistons, manifold etc.) IMO i would run a T-72 turbo and just get alot of the work done myself. SAve you money and yu'll have the good feeling of knowing you did most of the work yourself

745i manifold and K27 Turbocharger. Rebuild with forged pistons and copper head gasket. and if you want to go for 12+++ psi get a fuel pump booster and a MSD 6BTM.
Shouldnt be too pricy for parts.
