01 540ia S/C HELP....

TO ALL THE GUYS OUT THERE WITH S/C...IS IT POSSIBLE TO INSTALL ESS S/C FOR THE 01 540IA AND USE THE DINAN STAGE 5 SOFTWARE AND STILL RUN A SAFE CAR....I HAVE THE DINAN STAGE 2 SETUP...INTAKE MANIFOLD,AIR MASS METER,ETC...I'M PLANNING TO INSTALL ESS S/C AND RUN THE DINAN STAGE 5 SOFTWARE...AND MY QUESTION IS,IS THIS POSSIBLE...OR DO I STILL HAVE TO SEND MY ECU TO ESS IN NORWAY...REALLY CONCERNED AND CONFUSED...PLEASE HELP...THANKS IN ADVANCE....

I my opinion that won't work. at least I would never risk trying it, or the alternative
is to get an wideband lambda - install it and carefully watch it during different kind of loads, to see that the engine never runs lean.

thank you so much on info....but from my research ess have the same setup as dinan...8 psi...(except minor installation)they both use the same vortech sq2 s/c....what if i install ess and then go to dinan for tunning ?does anybody know if this is possible ? any additional info wecolmed....in advance thanks to everybody......

and that is my dilemna...i don't know if the (stage 5 download) is the s/c set up....i do have the stage 5 downloaded...at stage 5...you must have the dinan cold air intake,intake manifold,throttlebody,exhaust,and also the air mass meter..from what i heard you can just install the ess s/c unit,cause it's the same setup...(vortech sq2 s/c,8 psi boost)the only difference i see,is a different installation....(BUT) my sources aren't to reassuring or trusted....and this is my whole dilemna....do you or anybody think this setup can work or run a safe and reliable car....by the way i'm also wondering for later on purposes can i also install a intercooler with the same setup, for more reliability...thank you 540is and anybody else with replies....once again thanks in advance.........

For sure it can be reliable, I runned on 11 psi ~530 hp with no problems at all.
a couple of strip & trackevents included. (note: fuel here is 98 octan)

But at this powerlevels I would really suggest that you after installed the hardware
verifies that the engine works under correct air/fuel conditions on a dyno or
similiar. (quite inexpensive comparing to all money that u put in the car so far) :-))

so are you saying with the dinan stage 5 download,i can just install the ess vortech sq2 8psi boost and still have a safe and reliable car to run....and also install intercooler for later on purposes....????say aren't you the guy selling your ess s/c...??how is the auction going ? hopefully you didn't sell your s/c kit...you were probably busy and didn't reply to often... thought you did and went and bought a rolex sub....

Still have it FS, a bunch of people was supposed to buy it - but never comes with the $.......

I'am saying it MIGHT/PROBABLY work and that you SHOULD verify that it does on a dynobench with Wideband lambda / exhaust temperature etc. connected.

The hardware itself shouldnt be any problems at all.

by the way....love your car....you got one mean mf car...i had thought that guy jimmy540i.com had a bad ass car...till i seen you filling up his side mirrors...someday someday...i'll get my car up to your performance....keep up the good work with stage 5...can't wait till you post more pictures and please more videos for me and others as inspiration.....to have the ultimate 540i...but till then when you're laid off... and money is short all you can do is dream....

well thanks so much for info once again...good luck on auction...dam it...i would have bought it....had to go get rolex... well i got some saving up to do...... please more pictures and videos (on stage 5)for us that are on our journey....
