| I agree with ther service part, but, in all fairness to SIAS, goofy shit happens with e-mail sometimes, i've had my dad send me a few from work I never got, so i'll give them the benefit of the doubt, I sent them another E-mail memorial day (closed obviously), i'll let you know if they get back to me anytime in the next millenia.

| If you REALLY want a high-end standalone that towers above all others, look into MOTEC. So far I've been fine with an SAFC-II and proper injector sizing, Though Greddy's ITC does wonders for timing challenged cars (old skool, hard to get, but works). If you can't tune yourself (dont kid yourself, you can either tune or you cant, halfway and almost dont count here) getting your set-up from people who know their sh!t beats anything anyday, and you'll want to be dyno-tuned by someone who knows the system. I don't advise cutting corners, I have before and I'm still paying for them.

| well I am on the verge of getting the new Greddy system because of it's price compared to the TEC 3. Also I live an hour from Larry at Sound Performance in Chicago who has tuned some high horsepower Supra's and knows his shit pretty well. I've spoke a few times with him and almost had him tune my stealth and 3000gt in the past. my honest opinion, the TEC3 costs too much for me to invest into more for the fact that I am not racing competitions to make money. |

| Your A/C and whatnot are usually not affected unless the stock computer is removed and the stock computer handles things accociated (fan control is easy to take away from stock computer, ect.).

| As a standalone system doesnt the TEC3 eliminate the stock ECU? I thought that was the whole point of standalone, if you still have the stock ecu its basically just a piggyback isnt it?

| It gets iffy here, some "standalones" dont completely eliminate the stock computer. The AEM EMS for example replaces the comuter itself, using the stock ECU plugs, making it a true stand-alone, while some others can be used with the stock computer, just taking fuel/spark control away from it completely, unlike a piggy-back with still relies on the ECU to actually fire the injectors and plugs. The EMS does keep all funtions available, and allows custom settings of them, like fan control, ect. In my car climate control and electronically controlled suspension have their own separate computers, so they dont care if the stock ECU is gone. I'd have to find my BMW wiring service manuals for an exact answer. Things like fan control can be handled by separate devices also, like an adjustable aftermarket fan controller, ect. The TEC should have the ability to bump up idle when A/C is on, which is really the only thing the ECU does in the A/C department.

| I'm interested in the Greedy unit Haha? The Gready sounds like it is the same at alot of Piggybacks, like the shark, and those others that i always forget their names. Sounds like u cant get a proper tune with these. There are only 20 points where the A/f can be adjusted. As to where a standalone woudl let u adjust at frequent points |
