| ATP Turbo kit / GT30R project Alright, where to start . . . I've been (finally) thinking of upgrading from stage 1 AA kit to stage 2, only utilizing the GT30R turbocharger (Head gasket / head studs - 10lbs low boost and 14 high) and just shooting for around 365rwhp on stock cams, and the AA gen.3 exhaust / + trackpipe setup currently on my car. I've tried asking AA about this and it's an "in house only" project, so I'd have to go there to see what would have to be done to make it work??? (I live in Maryland). I really don't feel like traveling that far or sending the car that far, so I'm curious, couldn't I just get the parts I'd need to upgrade to stage 2 (Which would be how much $$$????) and have them design a chip for the GT30R? I would be able to have everything installed privately so they could just ship the parts I'd need and I could take it from there. I already know where I'd want to take it to have this all installed, and I just can't seem to get a list of the parts I'd need to upgrade to stage 2 even. Head gasket / Head studs Larger injectors (47 / 48lb / hr?? < good enough?) Fuel pressure regulator (my choice, seems like a good investment) Aquamist injection < Really ALL that neccesary? Stronger clutch, flywheel - of course ECU - AA (Staying away from standalone, for now anyway) Larger piping ("Custom" / easier) I mean what am I missing here? I don't get what the big mystery is? What hardware would I need to run the GT30R turbo on the AA manifold? In addition to the novel I just wrote, has anyone tried contacting atp turbo about the kit they (Apparently?) have available for the E36 and E46 M3s? It utilizes the GT30R I believe, so that might be an option even since my stage 1 kit just seems to be more maintenance / problems than the rest of my car is.

| You and I are always on the same page (especially with that quote of yours from my former screen name.) I've been contemplating similar ideas but with a GT35 turbo. I think the GT30 is probbaly better fit if 14psi is where you want to leave it. Anyway, the reason AA says its "in house" is because karl wouldn't want to try and make you software for an unknown turbo setup unless he had it there on the dyno. Its just too risky. I'm just waiting for them to make software for a fairly stock stage 2 with a GT35 for George (at ICS) then I can jsut rip the software off of them afterwards. Thats the best idea I've had, SInce I too want to stay legal with OBDII. You could do some other things to, like take out the cats, W/A injections and M50 manifold. I took my cats out and I think it made a big difference. I just bought the manifold and I am currently installing W/A injsection so that I can up the boost. Afterwards I'll get osme dyno time and check the A/F, but I'm expecting decent results. Still I too want some more serious power and have just been thinking about going with AA's stage 2 kit. Changing out teh turbo later to the GT35 wouldn't be that big of a deal. Hope that helps some.

ATP turbo (Apparently?!?!) is in development as I said as well, so I've considering sourcing them out for a kit or just for the software but I can't seem to get ahold of them . . . ever. What other options do I have as far as a standalone is concerned anyway? . . . anyone? any thoughts?
