what should I do? Need Help !!! Well, over the past couple months after I got a new headgasket, I have been noticing that there is more heat on the valve cover and engine bay as well as oil seeping out of the corner of cylinder one at the valve cover gasket. I also found that when I open the oil filler cap that I do get a lot of steam comming out the top. I THINK i BLEW A PISTON RING! I am getting a compression and leakdown test on thursday. If the results are correct, what should I do? Should I rebuild the engine or just get a new one with upgraded internals? The engine has been rebuilt before I bought it which was about 30 k ago due to a mis-shift. How the hell did one of my piston rings deteriorate like that?
I need suggestions and an estimate on how much u guys think this might cost to repair. Is it an easy repair? Thanks
