How to turbocharge a M52B20 engine

Did E36 come with M52 motors!?! Is it 150 hp you got (M50B20)? I have not turboed any M50 motors, but have heard of others who have done it. If it is just bolt on turbo (cheap and easyest way. Take a used turbo from a from a Lancia Integrale, alfa GTV tb, as an example) you cant boost more than 0,4 bar (you will risk breaking the head with more boost and not lower the comp). It will give you somewhere around 200-210 hp. There is a swedish company that sell turboparts for BMW only, they can fix a manifold for you (about 900 euro). My car is equipped with the M52B20 and I've just contacted this guy in Sweden that sells turbo systems for BMW. He give can give me a 500hp turbo kit for my engine.

Hmm learn something new every day. I guess 500hp is expensive too lol. Have you heard with ESS in Norway? They only deliver superchargers, but if i not remember wrong, their kit for the M52B20 gave something like 270hp. Somewhere around 4000 euro it cost i think.

The turbo kit is around 3500/4000euro.

I think that 500hp is the potential of the kit, if you lower the compression ratio, forged pistons etc...................

What ECU does your M52 320i use?
I've got a MS40.1 in my M50B20tu and it's a bit of a pain due to lack of aftermarket support.
Do you know what the ECU solution is from ppf?
