| The AA turbokit Don't take this as me saying I don't think it's worth the money.... But what DOES make the AA kit worth the 9 grand they want for it? What is so special about it (aside from it being like the only turbo kit available)? The turbo and the parts can't be all that expensive, so the only thing I can imagine knocking up the price so high is the software, but still... Is it because it's for a BMW so the price can automatically be jacked up? The stage II kit or whatever is practically 11k out the door, and for what? 400whp? For less money I could turbo a LS1 and achieve over 500whp and have plenty of power to spare on the nice T70 turbo the kit utilzes. So yeah, what makes the AA kit worth 9 grand? And what makes it worth buying over piecing together your own? |

| Simple, its way overpriced IMO. This is a kit that can put together for 4k, it's a kit that is meant for people who either cannot put together one themselves, or the people who are just wanting to buy a ready to go kit, overpriced, and overhyped...

| What the AA stage I kit offers is a well researched, well tested, well tuned turbo in kit form. This means you buy the kit, you install it (or have it installed), have your ECU flashed and drive away.. no worries. ICS was offering a group buy on Stage I AA kits (posted on bf.com) - for 6500... TT is offering their stage I kits for 6800 (as per their website) There are some interesting options in the bmw FI space.... with the advent of the twinscrew kits - we should see some very interesting price wars... all good for the bmw FI community! ![]() -Dave

| Sounds interesting, I was just curious... If I proceed with the S50 swap into this E30 I'm getting monday, chances are more than likely that I will eventually piece together my own turbokit for it, probably with a GT30R or something of the likes with some high HP flow capacity ![]() |

| They offer the kit to rhd euro cars but for lhd no, but I think the cast iron manifold is designed for the same type of motor a M52 engine is the same in USA and in Europe I think. |
