Boost Logic Turbo Manifold

Im puting together a turbo for my E36 M3 and I was pretty sure I was going to go with all AA components. But I was reading about the new Boost Logic tubular manifold that will accept a bigger turbo. Im looking for power but not at the expence of longevity. My mechanic says that the tubular manifold is more likely to crack than the "Custom cast niresist exhaust manifold ". Is the tubular manifold worth the risk?
Also, my mechanic suggested that shaving the tops off my pistons is an acceptable alternative to thicker head gaskets. Any opinions on either of these?

ive waiting for the manifold for awhile. boostlogic has a very good rep in building manifolds for supras, plus it comes with a 3year warranty.
your mechanic is wrong about shaving pistons, it will have less material which will make it weaker, and you wouldnt be able to tell how much compression you have.

I would just go with their full kit. The manifold is supposed to be reliable...same build as the ones used on the supras....in which they have a good reputation. Good luck getting your hands on just a maniold though. Brokeazz has been waiting for ever it seems like.

I believe Rui_Azevedo (I think that's how his name is spelled) does tubular manifolds. Search and I'm sure you'll find it.
