Twin screw idea from lexus

some kid in my 8 o clock class today had an import mag (SCC i think), but it had a twin screw write up that kind of got my interest. Ive been waiting for a twin screw to come out forever for a BMW I6, so after seeing the TRD supercharged I6 Lexus motor I was wondering how close the intake manifolds are to ours, relatively?, and is it intercooled.

I was just gonna buy a KB 2.2 supercharger and try to get a shop around here to do a manifold for it. But after seeing this I might just try to fit this one up. Then to my own piggyback stuff, injectors, etc.

Any Ideas?

It will be much more difficult than you think. In the end you will have spent more $$$ and prob have a much less superior product then the ones that will availabble from Steve (Stimpee) and Eurosport. Even the great Corky Bell failed at implimenting the TS on the BMW, you think you can do better?

Was this on an IS? I have never been able to find anything on supercharged IS's even though a kit was supposed to come out ages ago. Do you have website or anything by any chance?

Technique Tuning is proud to offer the Eurosport High Performance Twin Screw Supercharger systems. Technique Tuning is South Florida's authorized Eurosport dealer, offering sales, installation, and tuning of these well-engineered kits.

it seems like TT is implying that the system is available...but that is all the info they give. I would email them myself to find out the real deal but I'm not going to be in the market for something like this for a good year, so knock urself out and let us know!

I do have a lot of time on my hands right now, but not much money. I think its better than waiting for an actuall kit to come out.
I have seen steve's, but will it ever be a kit for sale? If so sign me up.
I've never seen any of the other ones for sale anywhere?

2JZE aka IS 300/Supra 3.0 V6 S/C

A while back I considered buying an IS300 and there is a shop called Power House Racing, in Santa Fe, NM. They specialize in 2JZ motors and offer Turbo and S/C upgrades. Here's there link PowerHouse Racing

and steve I got a good question for ya.

could you use a Kenne Bell?

All I hear is great things from Cobra owners. Like tens on stock internals. and 9s with cams.

KenneBell twin screws are autorotor compressors. And yes, you COULD use one.

I personally did not choose to, but that has been hashed over in the past on bimmerforums, and I won't go there.

Ultimately in the big scheme of things, the choice between the Whipple compressor and the Kennebell compressor is really a non-issue in my opinion. Any differences in efficiencies are probably not worth any significant consideration, so it just comes down to preference based on various factors. I made my choice...

I do not/did not work with Eurosport. I developed my twin-screw setup independently, and had it running nearly 6 months before Eurosport.

My "development" process is all but complete. However getting to "production" is a different story. The biggest challenge there has been getting over the decision as to whether to produce it or not. The rest is all in the details...

And as for you Jim, no need for 2 whipples. 1 will do nicely, and if you are really insane, they have a 3.3L compressor that is HUGE that could be used to do some downright STUPID things!!

I wouldn't say Corky Bell failed, I might say the business, or business partners, didn't add up to what he expected...
Here is a picture of my former 1.9 with his Twin Screw set up installed....

I would say he failed.

He even admitted it himself. I have some quotes from him around here somewhere.

His kit did not work due to "poor mechanical engineering". Plain and simple.

His inlet design starved the blower for air, his support design left much to be desired, and he wanted to "tune" it by simply using a RRFPR with no other augmentation.

Sounds like a "failure" to me.

Of course, I, personally, have thus far, "failed" in getting it to market. However that will change very very soon...

Steve
