NOS in combination with FI

how safe would it be to run a 75 shot of wet with a supercharger at 9psi in a 92 325i non vano's with stock internals?

thanks!

"SAFE" will be determined by what your AFR's look like with the supercharger in boost ALONE and what your AFR's look like when in boost and the Nitrous running.

If you do not go lean in boost and nitrous, AFR's in the 11's or 12's, enjoy the ride, it should be fun.
Nice torque gains and of course the extra HP up top.

If it safe, do it. If your AFR's go lean, get rid of it, OR have a new engine in the wings.

I would highly suggest that IF you do not have a wideband O2 sensor, get one. You should have one anyway when you run any kind of boost..

Need to becareful, the 92 3251 block is the strongest block avaliable in its class, but the 92 325i does not have knock sensors, so be very careful to listen for knock, or install sometype of knock link. Good luck.

thanks guys

im pretty new to this FI stuff and am in the process of purchasing a Dinan kit off a member on here as we speak

can u explain AFR's? not sure what u mean?

everything is going to be custom tuned by a guy i know in toronto, were going to spend the day at a dyno shop and tune the supercharger with and without the shot of NOS and everything, i want to make this as safe and as reliable ya know?

so basically with the proper measures taken and precautions taken i shouldnt have a problem introducing NOS under boost?

Sounds like time for research. Search this board and read "Maximum Boost" by Corky Bell - slightly old but definitley of use.

AFR = Air/Fuel Ratio. Definition of whether the engine is running lean/rich.

I would think it would be ok if you make sure your a/f rations are dead right, but without knock sensors... i would get a data logger...

I don't think you should honestly add nitrous yet. I had a 300zxtt that i bought a NOS wet setup for. So many different people said its not worth the extra 75 hp gain if it ends up beating up on your engine. So i never put the kit on and sold it to another zx owner. I have a rms stg2 kit that i'm about to install. But i have decided to try to go as much NA as i can along with the FI before i add nitrous. There are plenty of things you can add liek headers, track pipes, etc to gain more power. And this will be much safer and reliable in the long run...-Mike

Nos is something i would like to add at a later date, but if its going to require some reworking of my fuel maps i dont want to make 2 trips to the tuner because hes very expensive and buisy about 1000 bucks for the day at the dyno for him to tune my car with the custom supercharger

and for him to take my car again to rework it with nos wil probally be quite expensive

replacing your engine in case anything goes wrong is quite expensive too. I agree with spending the money on safer, more long-term upgrades like headers, etc. When the nitrous bottle is empty, that's it, no more nitrous, but headers are always there.
