 AA s/c in 325is... Does the 325i AA s/c kit require the engine to be built...I've read a bunch of threads about turning the 325 m50 engine into a 3.0 M3 engine for forced induction...I don't really want/need/have the money to stroke, bore, and build an m3 motor, but I want to make sure the engine will stand up to FI...can I just rebuild it with stronger rods and different pistons? the kit runs on 8psi, and I don't have the money to turbo it...(the car is for my little bro's 16th birthday...so it can't be an on-going project)      |

| What year 325? My friend Greg and I made his 1994 325 vert into a monster on 11 lb boost on a STOCK 325 engine with RMS cams only. It made 343RWHP and 288 RWT. It would have lasted but my friend Greg bumped the boost to 14 and lost the rings on cylinder 4. A fun night, but an expensive night. He has since put in a 3.2 into ther car and runs 12 lb boost now. It is safer. Up to 11 lb boost with an aftercooler and/or WI is the ticket and I would encourage you put the S/C on the engine if the compression and leakdown results are favorable. I would reccomend an RMS setup since the boost number you run is flexible because of the Vortech blower. Although the AA kit is nice, you are stuck at the moment @ 8 lb boost max. | I have a 99 M3 with the AA blower. It is not louder because of the blower but you do get a blower whine. I love it I have full Borla Race exhaust and people stop and look around stuff when they hear me coming. It is awesome. I do not think I hear the blower in the car with the windows up. But it could be because of the exhaust. I am currently looking at turning the boost up. |
