S50 block mated to non-Vanos head???

I am in the process of rebuilding my S50 motor and i was wondering if anybody has any clue if the 325i non-Vanos head can be mounted to the S50 block? I have been having issues with my VANOS and am considering the change. Please let me know if anyone has any clue if it will work and if it could make a lot of power.

Just get a 1992 325 head its non vanos on the same block.
