Why not have custom pistons made up. In the end it will probably save a lot of money and hassle. Just remember to get the pistons, THEN have the cylinders honed to match. |

| I mean that is it possible to find a forged piston from V8 or V6 engine for BMW ? Is it absurd thing ? any choice from ebay ? What are the alternatives for M20 turbocharged engine pistons in the market? What do most of people use? I meet lots of turbo BMW at forum pages.

| There is a guy in europe who is using an M42 (e30 318is) piston in his m20 engine for lower compression (the m42 rod is longer than the m20). I dont believe he has seen any problems with it. Would be a good idea if you are looking for lower compression for FI. I'm using Ross Racing 85mm 8.5:1 compression forged alum pistons. I bought them through Ireland Engineering for $939, they might be cheaper now. I am using hte stock rods (have held up so far. lots of HP). matt

| hmm, I consider M42 and M40 pistons. I think M40 engines were not available in US market. M40 is better (not 16v) and cheaper choice. But I am searching for more stronger pistons for the future.
