My AA trackpipe dyno results on FI!!!

For anyone interested, I added an AA trackpipe to my 1997 M3 with NO other changes since the last dyno. My last dyno yielded 400.5 RWHP and 311 RWT, done on 08-17-04,75 degree day.
Today the temperature was around 62 degrees on my temp gauge in my car.
Today my dyno numbers were on 2 runs done 2 minutes apart,
415 RWHP 317 RWT run 1 and 409 RWHP 319 RWT run 2

These numbers were obtained with 1.5 gallons of 110 octane added to exactly 8 gallons of 93 octane gas.I probaly had about 1 gallon of gas in the car when I started or more. Having said that my net octane was around 95 octane. The reason I say this is because the day before I tested the car on the same dyno with ONLY 93 octane gas.
The reason I wanted to TRY the trackpipe was to eliminate the cats for RACE GAS, more flow, and eliminate 2 of the 4 O2 sensors

This is what I learned. On MY car up to 6300 RPM the race gas did ZERO. After 6300- 7000 it kept my car from dropping 10 lb/ft torque across 6300-7000 RPM. I would also like to point out the single fan at the dyno SUCKED!!
So perhaps the gas did nothing after 6300 and the lack of airflow pulled back my timing, which is entirely possible.

Now today, after adding 1.5 gallons EXACTLY of 110 octane and bringing one rug fan from the company I run (which wasn't enough either, but aliitle better than yesterday)I gained 15 RWHP and 6 RWT peak on one run and 9 RWHP and 8 RWT on the other run PEAK.

Here are the gains averaged between the 2 runs today compared to my last dyno of 400.5 RWHP

RPM RWHP RWT
3500 +10 +10
4000 + 2 +8
4500 + 5 +10
5000 + 2 +2
5500 +10 +10
6000 +10 +9
6500 + 8 +7
7000 +9,+15 +10

Every RPM today was higher than every RPM on my last run by the plus amount above.

The seat of the pants feel of the track pipe on an 11 lb boosted FI car was great. I really thought the numbers would have been higher, by the feel, by I am still very happy.

The torque and HP gains thruout the powerband and ESPECIALLY from 5500-7000 were amazing!!!

I highly recommend this mod on a FI car.Hope this helps some of you wondering and thinking about this mod.

Note, my car has 32k miles on it and the engine is 100% completly stock inside. The valve cover has NEVER been off my car or the oil pan.

Whos dyno was it. I'm interested in having mine run.

Marc, what part of Merrimac do you live in, I used to live on Bear Hill Road, off of 110.

What other options are there for the track pipe...what do u think about supersprint?? . and is the AA really worth the money especially since i have the AA S/c and exhasut logic tells me that the AA track pipe would work best with my mods... and is having one custom made a good option and how much does something like that usually go for. Ive heard that the track pipe is one of the best mods for Fi cars cuz it frees up a boatload of horspower that the resonators were holding up andstuff

I think Marco could get 2 hp out of a dead squirrel lying on the side of the road.

Or waste some time and money trying, Jimmy!!!

I have a problem, I need counseling and rehabilitation. This car has a hold on me. All M3's do.

BTW Jimbob, would that be 2 flywheel HP or 2 RWHP out of that squirrel?
