| DASC or multi-throttle intake system? i have a 95 318is AT and i was wondering about which one would be better for the car? i know the DASC installs a supercharger and puts out 210+hp but it costs about $3,500. i saw a while ago on BMP Design for an avaliable Multi-throttle Intake System Price: $1,895.95
Designed for maximum fuel and air intake.
Available for m42, m44, m20, m50 and m52 engines.
does anyone know the total output of this on an M42 or M44 engine? i might see this as an alternative to the expensive DASC if it meets the HP at least halfway through. i know it says it's not smog legal and i can understand that on a m50 or m52, but an M42 or M44? i think if i should consider buying this it should still be smog legal.
i do like the engine though so swapping it is out of the question. if i keep this car for a long time i might even consider it a 318is project and see how much horsepower is possible while still staying NA, no Nitrous for me. |
