| Which Timing/Fuel System? I am curious what system everyone is using to manage their FI timing/fuel and why you chose it.I personally use the Dinan/Unichip set-up.Stand Alone is great/the best? but expensive and very hard to tune($$ on the dyno time wise). All opinions welcome!Hope this is not a re post. ![]() |

| Jimmy, is DTM , your new favorite place? Will you go back to BF's when they let you back or boycott? As you know I use 36 lb injectors that flow 39 lb @3.5 with a stock fuel pump. And the INFAMOUS RMS TUNING , that you love. I have AFR's of 11.8-11.9 @ 7000 RPM @ 10.9 lb boost with the RMS tuning. Plenty of injector and plenty of fuel pump for my 401 RWHP. ![]() And I do run aggressive RMS timing, like 18-19 . ![]() Last edited by Marc1119 : 10-11-2004 at 09:38 AM. |

| Do I know what you mean? FOR sure!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! This is a great place. DTM. I will discuss offline a couple things I have planned, that visitors from other forums do not need to know, because they are nosey and like to let others experiment with parts and dyno testing for results. And then accuse people like me at just throwing money at my car. I do it for the testing purposes, and then when they get MY results, accuse me of knowing nothing and just spending my hard earned money. I call it "stepping up to bat" and reporting the results. Those days are over for the cheapskates, who ride off my back to find out what works. And ironically when they DO find out what works, they are TOO CHEAP to buy the upgrade anyway and then try to MINIMIZE my results. I guess that is why I am up over 50 RWHP over most with the same or less boost. ![]() |

| after researching a little I decided on the tec3. It had already been tested on a couple bimmers with great success and the tuning from aa on my car was The system was very easy to install just like it is advertised, it is truly plug and play. Vic flew over from San Francisco to tune the car and all my headaches are now gone ![]()

| well the basemap was tuned on the dyno by Vic at first. Now I have made some changes to it by tuning it on the track with a wideband. There are some things that it's hard to get right on the dyno mostly related to partial throttle and lifting off a bit. I made some little adjustments here and there to improve throttle response and it feels great now. You tune the tec3 with a laptop. You can actually go to the following link and download the software. http://www.directignition.com/products/wintec3d.html You can do tuning on the fly and also do datalogging. No more chip burning ![]() I am not sure what you mean by how long does it take. To get the hardware? to install?
