NOS is in and damn does it feel good!

Whattup guys,
haven't seen/heard from most of ya in a while....mostly due to the fact that last night I just got back from a 6 day new years/ski vacation in Vegas and Lake Tahoe. It was awesome...

To add to my joyous passed few days, I finally went today and got my NOS bottle filled up (it was fuggin $42! but I was too anxious to even try to shop around). I tossed the bottle in and went for a test spin after a grueling 2 day install (wasn't hard at ALL...I just had to hide absolutely everything so my dad wouldn't/couldn't see any part of it - except for the bottle of course which I'll be removing everytime I go home). I took some pics and will be posting em up soon.

As for the results? No, the "engine didn't blow up" and neither did the car. I'm currently running a 50 shot dry NOS system (only b/c of the fact that no where near me sells the 75 shot jettings...gonna buy it soon) with no accessories to the nitrous system (i.e. purge, bottle heater, pressure gauge, etc). It's a WOT activated system and when I finally got the balls to hit it.....it was AMAZING. A clean amount of power came on (nothing back-breaking, but definitly a good amount) and when I turned the switch OFF, it felt like I was choking the car and that it needed more power. I could DEFINITLY feel the difference from about 3500-4200 and then after that the car simply lurched forward like an animal all the way up to 6000 revs.

I kept an eye on my Air/Fuel gauge and it remained rich (phew!) at WOT. There was no pinging/detonation and I'm definitly not running low on the nitrous/fuel ratio. Oh, and I'm running 91 octane gas with no additives (although I spontaneously bought a bottle of NOS octane booster when I got the bottle filled since I was being a little paranoid, never poured the stuff in though anyways). If anything I'm probably running a little rich which is ok since I'm going to be throwing the 75 shot jetting in there within the next week or so. I'm gonna pull the plugs on friday and see how they're doing, I'll let you guys know how well the nitrous dispursed between the 6 cylinders.

Hey, you ever want to get 100 octane I know the place in SD and I have a gas card to get it. (I am pretty sure you need the card, not 100% though)

I would stick with the 50 shot, the higher you go the more potential for increased engine wear.

nice job seed!! Let us know after you use it a few more times and pull the plugs to checkum. I'm still slowly(so the wife doesn't notice) saving for the ZEX kit. As usual something has come up again and I have to save to move to another apartment. Well in the meantime i'll be reading your progress.

my friend has a mustang and installed nos. He is running a 100 shot, it felt alright but not like a 100 shot. So he got a bottle warmer, and blanket. WOW what a difference, the bottle stays at 900-950 psi. Before the nos i could walk him easily, but then he sprayed. He spun all through second and spun 3rd for 30ft. Needless to say he beat me. Get a bottle heater and you will be impressed.
