rebiulding turbo?

has anyone had to rebuild a turbo. what would it cost. I have a stage II turbo from aa. i think the turbo is gone i see some water/oil coming out from the gap between turbo and down pipe. i'm going to take the downpipe off and look inside the turbo. and look for oil build up. i have my manifold rapped with heat rap. would that be why the turbo is screwed. to much heat. But i only did that because i seen pics of aa cars that had that done. And i wanted to keep engine heat down in the motor bay.

They did a really good job. They even like, ceramic coated the exhaust housing or something. I forget their pricing, i want to say like, $320 or something.
Also www.cheapturbo.com has it for $250 or something, both are great places to get a rebuild done.

It could be your turbo or it could be HG or pistion rings or some other problem. When my oil seals went in my turbo it was shooing out HUGE clouds of smoke if i tapped the gas, and otherwise it was smoking at idle.

it isn't mt rings because i put this used turbo on i haven't even hit boost. I just finished the install and when i started it up. i seen some oil coming though the gap of turbo to downpipe. and it seems my car is smoking at idle but i can'r really tell. also when i started it up when the car got hot it idles up and down. i think it's the 02 what do you think.
if i rebuild my turbo should i do anything to it when it's in the shope. also i see that you don't have a m3. from what you know so far from what you have gone though. what do you think my 325i it's a 92 could run hp and what should i look out for to broke or things that can brake my motor. it's stock.

Im in for a turbo rebuild right now. Mine cost 300$ for a rebuild it was leaking oil into the exhaust. You shoulda seen the smoke lmfao. Anyways he said he can rebuild it for 300$ or he can give me a new 16G turbo for 650$ that will give me 30 more horeses. You know what I went with. If your not worried about spending more ask your turbo guy for an upgrade along with a rebuild.. if you can upgrade a stageII im not sure.
