| ATP turbo Does anyone have any experience with the ATP Turbo kit? I know it's just being released, but someone may have it. I like the idea of not paying ten grand for a turbo from AA (as good as they are). The ATP kit made 404 wheel horsepower on a 330i. Sounds enticing!

| looks sick man. i bought a used dinan stage five s/c for 4 grand and it cost me another grand for new chip to match my cars security system and parts that were missing and then another 1200 install. so i say if this kit comes with everything and a chip for your car, for 5 grand go for it. i havent heard of the company so make sure you get a good garenntee plan with no fony loop holes. what i mean is like if this turbo dies in 25-50 k miles they send you a new one something like that. good luck |

| The guys over at VWVortex.com forums could give you some good info on ATP. I haven't cruised that forum for over a year -- but a bunch of the VW guys are running ATP. I about picked up an ATP kit for my VR6... |

| i LOOOOOOOOVE that whoosh...it's just sounds so good coming from an e46. I am definitely goin to get this kit somewhere down the road the numbers are just too impressive to pass up. I used to frequent VW Vortex and have heard nothing but good things about ATP.

| Thought i'd give an update on this, I just emailed ATP and they said that they still can't give an exact date for release but as i was reading other posts about this kit i found some scepticism as to whether or not this kit would for auto trannys (this worried me because i have an auto and want a turbo real bad). But they said that they will release an Auto Version running at a lower boost shortly after the release of the initial kit ![]()

| i registered mainly to reply to this topic - there seems to be a lot of question about ATP kits - coming from the volkswagen community, and my previous car be a 2.0 (for those of you know know vw's... ugh... for those of you who don't - GROSSLY underpowered), i put a lot of research into turbo kits, ATP being one of them. ATP's systems, as far as vw's are concerned anyway, are very good deals. provided you know how a turbo system works, and are willing to work out all the glitches. from the stories i've heard, the ATP kits aren't nearly as reliable as say, an APR kit, however, the ATP is cheaper, and makes much more power. ( APR costs $4500, makes ~300 hp for my current vehicle. for $4000, i could have ~350 hp with an ATP kit ). if you have access to a dyno, there are reliable tuners nearby to you, and you have another vehicle that you can drive while working everything out, you oughta be a happy camper. i do want to say though, that the pricing on the AA kits available for bmw's really bothers me - they're making a FAT buck on that one... even the dubwerks kit for vw's can be had for $5000 - the exhaust manifold can be purchased separately for $1500, and its really the expensive part of the deal.... i've seen pictures of AA setups, and i'm sorry, but none look near as enticing as a manifold such as this: ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() with a kit, with everything polished, and as clean as that... for as little as $5000.... somethings telling me theres a lot of money to be had in the bmw turbo market... your engines are already making good power - if the fabrication of an exhaust manifold can be done cheaply, and with quality still, in addition to more alternatives as far as engine management is concerned...... mmm... back to ATP though - definately check out vwvortex... here's a link to the forum search page: http://forums.vwvortex.com/zerosearch - be sure to select 'archived content' instead of just current topics...
