| Should i buy forged pistons for my m20 With my car i want to go for something around 300-325whp. I just don't know if i need forged pistons for that power. I don't know how strong the cast ones are. People say there a strong cast, but who knows. Corky bell says in most cases cast pistons are fine for street use with in a limit, but whats that limit? I think if i added detonation free boost they could handle a decent amout. You here of euro people building huge hp numbers on stock engines. Is it worth it to try to stick with the stock pistons? |

| I think they are a must when looking for that much hp. The thing with stock pistons is, you can not reduce the compression (unless you change the head gasket, and if you read in Corky Bell, this is the worst way to do it. Forged pistons are a lot stronger, a lot more resistant to detonation, are lightweight (mine are 300g) and look badass. Remember these words from a guy I know, "Do it right, or do it twice." matt

| Your probably right. Plus i've taken my car apart enough times, i should get the pistons, and hopefully it will be my last time to take it apart. With the t/60-1 turbo i got i want to end up running after the break in period like 17-18psi, and hopefully that will get me over the 300whp mark. This time im going to buy an s-afc, and get it tuned also. |
