Forced induction for the 8 Series

Is there a forced induction 850csi or any 8 model series?

not actively but i know Dinan made a twin turbo 850ci. It was for sale to try to hype up the 8 series Sales but ultimately didnt achieve its goal. there was one recently sold on Ebay. But to asnwer your question...custom by Dinan.

HavenT seen one. It can be custom made. However, there is no logic behind it.

The vehicle is so heavy. It woul dbe better to spend the money on A C5 or Supra.

What do you mean there is no logic to it....

they way Dinan did that 850 tt was very
conservative...... a well built BMW V12
can produce enough power to out run a supra or vette.....and would be a timeless supercoupe.....

what makes the auto V12 so heavy and sluggish is the auto tranny.....the V12 only weighs 341lbs the tranny is almost 1000-1100lbs,

with a 5 or 6spd and 800+whp there wont be much that it won't be able to walk away from......and I mean without N2o.......

I used to own an 850 so I know what the car is all about......

Dinan did a twin turbo setup for awhile but its been discontinued, although with enough money you might persuade them to do another one, or at least part with some info on it. Right now the biggest performance upgrade you can get for the 850's that is not a complete one-off custom job is to have the engine built to 6liters by some guy on the east coast...and then custom turbo that hehe.

for the 840's you can maybe use the same supercharger setup for the 540's...possibly.

I find it hard to believe that the transmission weighs a half ton.

There is no logic behind your horse power claims, and that hasn't stopped you.
Some people like class to go a long with their high powered car, so your suggestion doesn't really apply.

E34 Biturbo,

I love the 8 series but prefer the E30 or E36 to be forced inducted.

8 series has a super look, the nose, hood, head lights , side look are excellent.

But it is a heavy car. If the weight can be lowered down to 1,450 kg I would want one.

me too. just to put that into perspective, that's 22.2 45lb plates @ the gym. there's no way the tranny weighs that much.

The E36 manual tranny is only 98-100 lbs....

hey! people, have any of you guys done it? I would take E34's word for it because he makes it seem like he has taken out the tranny before or something. But we will have to see if he is correct or not somehow.
