Best M3 Engine for FI

hi,

Was curious if anyone would be able to tell me the best M3 engine for an FI application. I spoke to Alvaro Murillo at Active Autowerke's and he said that the 3.2L US OBD-1 conversion would be the best engine to start with.

any input?

Thanks,

S50B32 engine which is the European version E36 M3 engine.

Stock HP 321. revs freely 7600. 8.200 rpm puts a smile on the owner's face. The machine, in other words the complete engine is so durable, so strong, that you will be amazed. Still using the stock con rods and crankshaft at 30 psi of boost and getting 900 hp. Go for a S50B32. That will be a great present for yourself.

Have you blown any engines with your old setup? and what kind of engine management are you running with the new setup?

I did blow motors at least 4 times. But we try high boost levels and the engine gets blown due to our mistakes, not because of its own structure or material weakness. At these high boost levels we can brake any part. Especially when you race on the highway you go wilder. If I were an experienced tuning company and had tuned more cars the possibility of engine failure would be minimal. But I started tuning (FI) with the E36 euro M3. So it is no shame to have engine failure.

Most essential point is that we go as fast 200 mph and serious detonation broke pistons usually above 175 mph. So in USA you have low chances to damage engines unless you go extremely lean and take out the knock sensors.

Thnaks God we never bent a con rod or damaged a cylinder head. Imagine, exhaust gas temperature gets more than 1650 F and the piston melts. Nothing happened to the valves, to the head at these extreme temps. The

S50B32 engine is bullet proof.

We will install a 450 rwhp NX kit. I am sure engine will damages at least 3 times till we setlle the N2O. I bought a NX Maximizer in order to have electrocic devices control the system. We ll see. At the end we may have 1200 hp

So when do we see some dyno graph's of your 900hp M3?

Or is it going to be like your 44hp gain claims you made on bimmer forums?

what's all involved in an obd-1 conversion?

what sort of boost levels can you run on the stock block, without any internals done? are is it best to do internals before applying FI?

Thanks again,

If you already have a 3.0 L with 123,000 miles and you want more power, are you looking at FI. Because if you are, it would be much wiser for you to build a low compression turbo motor with what you have rather then swap in a euro 3.2 and try to go FI on it unless you have a lot of spare funds lying around.
