| boost How much boost can an m50 from a '99 mcoupe take before it becomes necessary to build the bottom end. I am considering mechtech's turbo, which made 300whp at 8 psi (no other mods), but I was wondering if 350whp is conceivable by simply dialing up the boost. Will the stock end take it? Will it run reliably at such boost? I would plan on adding an aquamist/mechtech water/alcohol injection system later on. THanks.

| if your intercooler, turbo, tubing, and software are sized and tuned right and if you have a lower compression engine, the S52 can take about 20psi. If you're on stock compression then only 10psi is recommended but I would look at water injection at that time. On my AA kit Stage 1 OBD2 turbo kit I made 324rwhp and 330ft.lbs torque to the wheels at 8.5psi. Another guy in WI made 356rwhp and 365ft.lbs torque at 9.5psi on an AA Stage 1 Turbo kit OBD2. So yes if your setup is just right, increasing boost will give you more power. |

| Yes I do plan on getting either one of mechtech's or AA's water/alcohol injection kits.
