MAx BOOST ON A STOCK MINI COOPER S Supercharger

Wat is the maximum amount of boost that can be safely put thru the mini cooper S's stock supercharger and engine. My friends father custom forges pully's and he said he could make me one that would bring my boost up to 13 psi.. would that be safe for the engine.. charger, drivetrain? please let me know!

I think the stock boost psi is 15~17psi...

So, with the reduction pulley people are seeing 19~20psi....

I'm not sure about those numbers off the top of my head. There has been talk/concern about reducing the pulley too much because the waterpump is associated with the pulley. It may cause cavitation.

People have been testing a 19% reduction pulley and so far so good...

The norm is 15%...

Hope this helps...

stock mini cooper s boost is 11.6 psi out of the factory and with the 19% pully it will up it to 14.6-15.6 psi. You will be around 200hp at the crank. If you want alot of power for the money, a stock mini cooper has 10.6:1 compression ratio and a Cooper S has 8.6:1 compression ratio. Buy a set of regular Cooper pistons and put them in the Cooper S.
