supercharging or turbocharging automatics?

OH come on, how bad can you be?

You can put any turbo or S/C on an Auto. (I think) I still think you should get the 5 speed though. Autos just aren't made to handle so much power.

low psi supercharger okay..turbo..forget about it too much torque. Unless you build up the tranny..i remember someone on this board selling a rebuild kit.

The safe way is to get a s/c on a auto. My friend adam from my team has it on his 99M3 with 6psi instead of 8psi. So it's safe.

i agree s/c is the way to go. however probably will have to replace the tranny. even AA doesn't recommend their s/c w/ an automatic.

i thought that the 325 auto tranny can not take more than 250hp

How about a 318is auto, with the DASC? Runnin around 6psi - -is the tranny strong enough for that?

yes get the AA s/c with a custom chip and you car run 6psi safe. My friend has a 99m3 auto with 6psi and it's fine.
