| AA reliability I know AA has a great reputation for reliability, but the fact is it's still a turbocharger. And we all know how turbo's effect an engine. The point is I want a turbo, but if I'm going to spend 10k now, I'm not going to want to shell out more for an engine rebuild anytime soon. I really just want to know what maintenance is like for you AA people?

| If the proper precautions are taken while installing the kit, then the reliablity is outstanding.......there are guys here with tens-of-thousands of miles on there stock engine internals with turbo's putting out huge power.......tuning and software are the keys.........that is why it is so important to have it tuned either by Active or by somebody like a nickG or somebody that knows the way software tuning should be done......or go tec3 and you should run into very few problems..... | M3darkside, Have we talked before? I have the Stage 1 OBD2 Turbo kit and only maintenance you have to do is change your engine oil every 3000 miles. Depending on how hard you drive you have to inspect, regap, or even replace the spark plugs every 10k-15k. Keep low boost for the streets and high boost for highways and for racing. If you keep the engine well between the boost limits, you shouldnt have a problem with a blown engine or such. Only way I can think of that can damage your engine is if you overboost, ignore check engine lights or misfires, dont fix a vacuum leak of one occurs or accidently put bad gas in the tank. BTW I already have 30k miles on my turbo kit. |

| AA's kits are very reliable. There are guys with more miles than Jon. I talked with Karl at AA about a 95' M3 with close to 60k on the setup. AA also just came out with the stg. 2 kit to lower compression and such. Wes P.S. I will be IM'ing you or calling you in a little while. I am working on something you may be interested in.

| Thanks for the input everyone. BMWGuy, I don't know if we have talked before or not. Do you at all recall what the subject was?

| I got 91k miles on a 95 M3 thats had the turbo kit on it for about 25k miles with no problems and the heads never been off the motor. Recent compression test showed it was still within BMW specs, I run a hair over 7# of boost. |
