I just met my new mechanic. He installed my cross-drilled rotors today along with the stainless brake lines. He also owns 2 E30 iX's. One of them is a DINAN turbo'd iX. Wow, is this iX nice. He drove me around in his iX and all i could say is DAMM. This thing is superfast. It was a very nice site to see. Now this makes me want to get a turbo. Everybody who said that the iX could not handle that much hp are full of it cause this one sure as hell did it. Any questions, just ask.

DINAN MAKES TURBOS?!!?!?!?1 i know they offer a supercharger for my car, but turbo is news to me. anyway, can you find out if they have one for a m3 and howmuch it will be?

Dinan USED to make turbocharged BMW's including the E30 M3. I've talked to a guy that onwes one actually. he had to do a rebuild on it about 2 years ago because the motor can't handle the boost with stock internals, and he blew a head gasket and threw a rod

it was a pretty cool setup, the ABS stuff was moved and they had an air to air intercooler mounted behind the driverside headlight. on the passenger side, and airbox out of a 745i was mounted, kind of wierd looking.

I've also seen a Dinan twin turbo 750iL, that was a baaad machine. also Rob from UUC Motorworks used to or still owns a Dinan Turbo'd E28 M5, i would sell myself for that car : )

from what i understand is that dinan does not turbocharge cars anylonger because the maitnence on them was too high, and not very dependible. going the supercharger wroute has much better longevity and is more reliable.

Now i do not agree with this, and i would rather turbocharge my S14 before I supercharge it, but that is what i heard from Dinan.

Hey Eric, did you not find it funny that the intercooler was placed behind the left side headlights and that it was small? My mechanic told me the reason why it was mounted there is because there was no other place to mount it. It looks cool though and the airbox did look kind od funny. Overall, it was a very nice set-up.

Oh before i forget, thanks Eric. Your response was perfect. Since i did not know wether DINAN made this a one-off turbo'd iX or actually made turbo's for cars, i did not know how to help Mrsha out.

yeah no problem, i believe they used a turbocharger unit from a mitsubishi. i think that's what AA uses too.

yeah the intercooler does look funny, you should have seen the twin turbo 750iL, it had intercoolers behind both sets of headlamps, and then air boxes behind each intercooler.

Yeah there is a guy here in toronto who has been trying to sell his 325ix Dinan Turbo for awhile. Im not sure if he has sold it yet but he wants alot of money. It looks really nice and i has tons of mods and tons of power with a real nice silver paint job.
