Jetronic motor into Motronic car...

Gentlemen,

My 86 C2 2.7 Alpina was recently assaulted by a volvo wagon running a stop sign tragically bending the rear end... So I've bought a 90 325is to take some of the good bits from the recently deceased C2 and bring it back to life, namely the engine and other tasty bits.. The only difficulty is that the alpina motor is an earlier jetronic model. Both engines have big throttle bodies etc. How hard is it to basically convert the alpina motor to motronic? Using donor car parts from 325 or bits from wrecker..

Don't need to be rewiring car as the 90 325is is already motronic obviously.. We do need to get the best bits of both and make the alpina engine motronic.. What are the issues involved? Do injectors need to be changed? Is it just a case of attaching motronic distributor or whatever it is to the front of the motor and not the side? Any voltage, sensor, engine mount or other ancilliary issues? Would throttle bodies be at all different?

Bearing in mind the M20B25 is in very good nick also.. so what parts from wreckers are required if not cannibalising this engine? Any technical and pictorial help greatly appreciated.. I'm a bit heartbroken @ the moment but determined to come out of this ahead....

will i blow my motor if i add a turbo

hey every one i started a thread a while ago that was titled NEED MORE POWER and alot of perple told me that i might be able to add a turbo and i was wondering if i put a turbo in would i blow my motor...my car currently has 189000 miles on it and i think a turbo may be a little to much for it to handle...any advice will be appriciated

so, i have a non vanos engine in my 1985 four door 318 e30. not good enough, i want more power. a friend (99 m3) is basically giving me his stage 1 turbo kit from active auto, ie- exh man, turbo and injectors and some piping, maybe the intercooler, though im not sure it will fit. i'm wondering if anyone knows about what size waste gate and blow off valve i would need for this setup?thanks in advance.

Accelerating/Revving

Hi,

Had a strange thing happen recently.
I'll accelerate and the car will pick up, and then the revs will suddenly shoot higher up (like when putting into a lower gear)

Has happened twice when driving - both time was slight change, but on another occasions I put the pedal to the ground - revs climbed a bit slow and then suddenly shoot up and my car jerked forward although I hadnt changed gear/dropped gear.

My car is a 318tds se

Any advice would be great.

Lower control arm bushings

Hey people,

I have searched the site and havent managed to come up with any answer to my question. I have lowered my suspension on my e36 328i, with eibach pro kit springs and koni yellow dampers. My lower control arm bushings are worn and need replacing, is it advisable to replace them with the offset bushings, or just stick with the centered bushings?

328 sedan passenger door wont open

sorry i did a search but couldnt find the EXACT same problem as mine its a 97 sedan ,and for a while the doors would all lock with the central locking but one passenger door wouldnt it would have to be locked manually,i could live with that but I went to open it the other day and now it wont open at all ,any suggestions ??

ive pulled the trim off and sussed things out but no luck ???
