| get a sticky pod. they have incredibly strong suction cups that hold the camera to the outside of the car anywhere you want it. ive used it at speeds over 80mph and they hold great. i was using a JVC mini dv, but it wasnt light. anyway, this will solve all your problems: http://www.stickypod.com/

| I got my camera pod from filmtools.com Something like this: And just used a simple MiniDV camera that I got from a pawn shop for $125. I've taken road trips and it's held for over 2 hours at 100+mph. We also use it for autocross: http://www.goodlinesracing.com/MSCC/Dimitri1.wmv http://www.goodlinesracing.com/MSCC/MattSide.wmv The only downside is that you have to have a very flat surface to get a good suction. Edit: Also, it has a hard time sticking to bumpers or anything made of plastic.
