| What is the best camera to start off with? I am looking for a camera under 1000$ to make DVD quality videos. What does everyone here use? thanks, zach.

| The Sony PC1000 is definately the best camera to get, very top notch quality and pretty portable. It retails at $999. I would definately look into it. |

| it helps...it gives greater color defenition. You cant go wrong with the PC1000 though if you want decent/good quality...I was just wondering Give it some research on sites like epinions.com or any others and check out www.bhphotovideo.com/ they give great discounts and are trustworthy

| Well to be honest I trust you guys alot more that the opinions of the other websites due mosly inpart to the fact that you use them and know what is crap and what is good!!!! so thanks alot!!! also I am using pinical for the demo of the DVD but what software do you suggest? thanks zach

| my little brother got a Panasonic PVGS150 for under $600.00 and he and his friends make good movies...there are plenty of good quality cameras for under a grand. You could even go and check them out at a local store

| I use mac software, because its readily available to me...I use iMovie actually and it works pretty well. I also use Final Cut. Ive heard Pinnacle was good, but Im no software expert.

| i was only asking because pinical has shut down the whole computer while doing the movie more than once......well to be honest,,,, every time!!! etting frustrating!!!! Also i was thinking about getting a laptop todo the work on, should I go with a mac? or a PC? i dont need uber power just something i can work with out crashing, ya' know? thanks again, zach

| Yah the cool thing about spending less on the camera is you can buy more accessories for the camera or more parts for the bimmer...Im actually lookin into gettin a new camera, but I might try to buy an e30

| The cool thing about my mac is that if it does crash or lose battery power(ibook) it starts back up exactly from where you left off...it can sometimes quit the program without warning. I like it, but they are more expensive than most PCs. After I switched, I didnt really like it, but now I wouldnt go back. Its just really easy to use.

| how about the opp. system? I am a windows dinda guy... I didnt like how my friends mac worked but I do want to be able to .... well....work on the movie AND! not worry about crashing....
