New camcorder im getting....

Well guys, I decided I need a camcorder..... This one excited me because it can take still pics like a digital camera, even while shooting videos!!!! The price is good, has excellent zoom and stability, and weighs in at just .9 lbs... What do you guys think?

the vx 2100 and 2200 are sooo sick, but theyre also like $1500.

First, I think it's dumb that he is looking at a $300 camera and you tell him 'dont waste your time, just get a $2000 camera.' You're wasting his time with your comment.

As far as that Panasonic camera goes, you get what you pay for. The still picture capability is only VGA, which is equivilant to a picture taken on a cell phone (not that great). On top of that, I don't see anything about a nightshot mode nor does it have a light. So, it won't be very good for night action. But if you want something that you can just take around and get video during the day, this won't be too bad. And at $300, it's not bad for a starter video camera. I have something very similar, the Canon ZR80 which is their entry level MiniDV and it suits me just fine right now.

That must have been one of the most unintelligent posts I have ever read. Do you even know anything about those cameras or have you used any of them? Not everyone is looking for a $2000 camera.

As far as that cam goes, it seems like its really good for the price. Panasonic products have never failed me, so have fun with it .

well i have the sony hdr fx1 and it was 4000 and it is way nicer that any other camerai have ever bought or used. i was just trying to help save someone from hours of frustration while watching videos that come in and out of focus and have poor audio and what not. i was just trying to be helpful, unlike all of you who jump dont peoples throats at any chance you can get. i also strive for perfection as i use this equioment as a profession. just trying to be helpful

u shud also strive on common sense. hes lookin at capturing video and pixs with an affordable camcorder, not to make professional hollywood masterpieces. thats like telling him to go buy a viper wen hes interested in buying an economical family sedan.

lol steve, people like to think they know a lot about them.

As far as that camera goes, it seems like it would be decent, and as far as your price range your not going to be able to get anything spectacular. I'd look into the new JVC which records onto its own hard drive. and you can delete things you just recorded like a digital still camera. Also low weight is great, but its going to be less stable. And msot if not all cameras can take pictures and record video but you will find that you are rarley going to do that, the quality is not very good.

they go anywhere from 4 or $500 to $1000 which isnt bad considering. Just do your shoping around.

I have a panasonic DVX100B and i love it.
