m1 update. read on or lotus esprit

well its come down to this one m1, its either gonna be this white m1 in so cal or a white 1978 lotus esprit II. i found a 1978 lotus esprit for sale down the street, they want 7900 for it. its white on black. i like it. it has the old wedge shape like the ferrari 348's and the maserati's i was wondering if anyone knew about these cars. and can anyone run a vin numbers for me.

the bmw m1 vin is: WBS59910004301168

the lotus has a strange vin but oh well: 78010590H

thanks alot fellas, any info on the lotus will help. im gonna go test drive it for my uncle this week.

Are you gettting a new car?
I have always loved Lotus! But the early cars are even MORE high strung then the S-14! There was also a lot of Turbo issues with them. it's also hard to drive and shift becasue of the construction of the car. You sit out side the main frame pice and the shifter is really high. There is also a lot of blind spots.

The good, LOTS of fun to drive they handle really well, and brakes are awesome!

Now the M1, GET IT! It is the first M car and is your S-14 plus 2 cylinders! What more could you want?

7,900 for the lotus? isent that signifintly cheaper then the M1?

im assuming the lotus is an S4 turbo, so if that's the case, i'd go with the M1. a turbo motor with 20+ years on the clock is bound to have some issues.

scratch that, a BRITISH car with 20+ years on the clock is bound to have some issues!

naw, im not getting it. my uncle is. but me and my uncle love to trade cars. he wants a m1 bad. but i found this lotus the other day, and i just wanted to know a lil more info on it. maybe he will buy both. lol. he said if he gets the lotus he is gonna upgrade everything, and redo the enigne, if its bad. so fellas help out with the vin numbers huh? please.

HAHAHAHHAHA. tru, but No Sabbs said that he can get me a detailed info print out from the dealership he works at, and its better then carfax. so ehhhh. lol. oh and id never sell my s14, id just trade my uncle for a day.
