1602/2002 project car

It is a 1602 but it has a 2002 motor with a 4 speed on the back.

Heres a short list of what is wrong:
Speedo is wrong (wrong gear that drives it)
Rev counter doesn't work.
Rear brakes don't work...that well
Gear selection problems (Feels like its in neutral when in gear)
Over fueling the carbi
Dash falling apart
Rusting boot lid
The hood is far from straight but has had some work done
Drivers door a little rusty where it has hit the hood.
Passenger door has no tie to stop it opening until it hits the frame
it goes on and on.

I think i have my work cut out for my. Any way heres some pics of it.

I'll keep you all informed as this start to change and get fixed.

The first this to fix are the over fueling, gear box, and the rear brakes so i can use the hand brake when i'm parked.

oo the yellow one is beautiful.
for that matter they both are, god i love these cars. i would buy another but i still need to fix the one i got.

your tach problem is likley a bad ground behind the instrument panel they all have this problem eventually it seems. as for the speedo gear and the shifter problems, it would be wise to just do a 5spd while you got things apart. a 5 spd can be done for a couple hundred bucks if you got some tools and an ebay account.

hey sweet car. it does sound like a project though. i have a 1975 2002 with a 4cyl and a 4 speed awesome car to drive. right now im currently looking for a 80-82 320i bmw so a could swap the rear end the motor and the 5 speed tranny on to my car. GOOD LUCK
