Chassis question

Hello All !!! new member here........yeah just a couple of questions that ive been meaning to ask. Even though the site doesnt really have a place for older models it I was wondering if someone could help me with a few ??
The 3.0cs ,3.0csi ,csl and the 3.5s were considered E9s right....but I wasnt sure whether the 2000cs and the 2800cs's were E9s as well because they look allot allike? "The ones that had the allien head lights" Also ive been arguing with the father "whom knows all" That the simillar bavaria and 3.0l and 3.3l are both E3s and not E9s "he had 2 bavarias in the 80s and still doesnt know" I havent been online in a while and have lost all the linkage. If im wrong he can slap me in a public place soo...

You are correct. Check out e9coupe.com if you want to have a chat to some of the boys there. Im not sure if they made a 3.5 litre e9 though...

maybee just 3.0s and 3.2s.?
Ps: your 2002 is a beaut man im actually going to look at a 69 tommorow because i wanted to do the S14 swap this summer. But I live on long island so hopefully the shock towers are still there lol.

Im pretty sure that there weren't any 3.5csl's made or 3.2's and there were just 3.0cs, csi, csl and then the 2800cs, etc. However i am for from an e9 'nut' so i could quite possibly be wrong

Thanks for the complement! much appreciated. Luckily down here we dont toooo much rust and the towers are usually in place. Good luck with the 69 you are going to look at. An s14 powered early 02 will look and go brilliant! All i can say is take your time when shopping and make sure you find the right car. Mechanicals are easier to fix than body work

I remember reading that there wer only like 50 something 3.2 csls badged 3.0s and there were deff 3.5s I have a couple of old articles http://www.bmwworld.com/models/vintage/batmobile.htm

Yeah unfortunatly the 2002 wasnt in very good shape I guess im gonna have to pay a little more for peice of mind
