Is there an "E" for the 2002?

I just got a '72 2002, and im looking for stuff I need. Whenever I search for "2002" in conjunction with bmw, alot of bmws from the year 2002 show up, not a bmw 2002. Does the 2002 have an "E"? I cant even find this!

About The e designation for the 02's

I have seen some online part stores call the 2002 a "e6" and one other one call it and "e10". I'm not quite sure when BMW came up with there e designations. I started hearing the e designation "BS" in the late 80's or early 90's when they started the new variations of the 3 series.

There seems to be alot if variation on the earlier models...

From what I knew the 2002s actually used a 3 digit #114 this would apply to all 1602s and 2002s except for the 2002 Turbo, the turbo is either a e10 or e20?

E6 is used for the tourings (16 and 20)

Other variations have the tii and Turbo as a E20, the Touring as the E10, etc.

No hes talking about the M20B27 (E30 eta engine), the M20B25 (E30 i engine)the number after the B is the displacement. Like the S50B30 or the S50B32 is the 3.0 liter US E36 ///M3 engine and the 3.2L version. One more example would be the S54B32. Alpina does also have the B designation but thats the external nomenclature. Like the B10 Bi-turbo, B7S Turbo, B3 3.3, B12, etc.
