Opinions on the euro getrag 242 off the 320i

I have the 320i dog leg transmission in my e30 with an m50 motor. I just want to know if anyon e has had any troubles or is it a good performing transmission. I heard it is popular tranny for 2002 race cars. Currently it seems difficult to get into gears at high rpms, but i believe it is just the bushings. The more throttle I give it the harder it is to get into gear. Is there any aftermarket ssk or should i just get the parts to replace the bushings and linkage on it?

242? 4 speed?

when you say difficult to get into gear at high speed, does that mean it crunches?

it is a 5 speed dog leg. I don't think I would call it a crunching, more of a pop. Just seems it isn't getting into the slots. The bushings are quite bad, alot of movement in neutral.
