2002 need new speakers

Recently bought a 2002 and am looking at putting new speakers in. can anyone inform what size speakers i would be able to fit in the door and what i would have to do to fit 6.5" splits in them.

If you cut the door pannels to put in speakers you will loose about $500 in the value of your car.... Those things are $450 each new... most 2002 guys put them under the dash.... not optimal sound quality but keeps some original stuff....

A better alternative would be to try a kick panel location to mount your components. With a custom enclosure, you avoid cutting while getting an optimum location in terms of imaging.

Yah i dont really wanna cut the door panels. i was just thinking of making my own pods but not sure where to locate them at the front.
do u think u would be able to fit 6" component pods at the feet of driver and passenger or am i dreamin

if not any recomendations

or if so any good article on how to make speaker pods

would i expect to get bad sound quality if i put speakrs under the seats or do you think it would be alright

The other problem with mounting speakers in the door is running wires to the speakers. There aren't any places to run wires through without making new holes. Not that you couldn't do it, I plan to at some point, but something to keep in mind. Afterall, you can do anything you want if you set your mind to it and have the funds to back it!

1 year ago i took off the original back speakers of my car and made a bigger hole to put my 6x9... sounds great... the trunk helps hear the bass better

Yeah, I forgot to mention that earlier. I have 6x9's in my rear deck lid and they sound great. Plenty of bass to make a nice full sound.

speakers under the seats (unless they are subs in proper enclosures) would sound like ass. When was the last time you went to a concert and the band was UNDER you?

"Em R" Alpine Type R's. I am not a big audio guy but love a good sounding stereo as much as anyone. Good sound, especially when I have an amp powering them. I have a Alpine deck, which I absolutely love, but it doesn't give them as much power as they like to have. I have some Type R 6.5" 3-ways which will go up front whenever I feel like taking the time to screw around with some custom fabrication. My brother is driving the car now so it's not a huge priority for me.
