| here some food for thought. im still new to the bimmer forums, but the M10 is the 320 motor right? mechanical injection? well then here is another cheep alternative... Run your stock CIS, leave everything in place, build a solid motor (which can be acheived without going out of pocket), pick your turbo goodies, and run it with a split second injector controller. its basically a stand-alone for four injectors that only come on under boost. i have had very good sucsess with this setup. in a VW we ran a 2L 8v crossflow on CIS basic with the injector controller. with a solid bottom(balanced, arp bolts throughout), and it put 253.4hp to the wheels. this is the plan for my 320i turbo project.

| Sure is. Resides in Sydney and competes in the NSW Sports Sedan championship, where modifications are fairly unrestricted. The motor is an M10 with the twin cam head off one of the 80's Formula 1 motors (that reportedly made up to 1500hp in qualifying trim). The owner had to fit an industrial pressure gauge to read the boost as no automotive one would go high enough (~37psi) . The car is a full tube frame chassis and now has a 6 speed Hollinger sequential gearbox..On the track the car is rarely seen without footlong flames coming from the exhaust More Pics

| *update* well, i have thrown the budget out the window. priced a few things, looks like a silly fast M10 isnt that expensive. $1400 for pistons, $1400 for rods and $5K for a sweet builder to put it all together. ![]() the $5K gets me balance, bore, rings and all that crap. so all i have to do is bring him the bits (head, pistons, rods and block) and he gives me back a nice built balanced motor ![]() ![]() ![]() should be good for 400 - 500 hp at the crank ![]() |

| What are you going to do for a transmission and rear end. stock components won't last 3 minutes at that power output.

| Get healthy(if avail.) 2002 or 320i E21 engine and put your 318 injection into it. Get head port matched and cleaned, a mild cam and headers. Easily some 140-150 hp, even more?
