2002 big brake kit install...cannot get hub/rotor off, help please I have the dust cap, split pin, castellated nut, thrust washer and outer bearing removed, and the caliper removed hanging off to the side. I am installing a big brake kit (front) from aardvark racing which uses larger rotors and 4-piston calipers from a volvo.
I cannot seem to remove the hub assembly. I have a Haynes manual which says "Using a suitable drift drive out the oil seal and extract inner taper roller bearing". I guess I'm not sure what this means I have to do? What is a 'drift'?
The hub assembly is loose and will pull out a little bit then it is like it gets stuck on something. Looking the diagram of the assembly, the only thing left in there is the inner bearing and the oil seal. Not sure how these could be preventing the hub from pulling out/off.
Do I need any special tools? Anyway, if you have any suggestions or have done this before and know what I'm talking out, I'd love to hear back from you.
Thanks alot guys,
MikeP
