2002/1600 owners sound off

we need all of the 2002/1600 owners to get together if for no other reason then to see how many of us there are. If theres enough of us then we could see about getting our own forum instead of being lumped with the "other models" group.

I'm here too...up in Minnesota...bmw2002faq.com has a great community, too bad their forum sucks so hard. I'd love to see such an active 02 forum on DTM.

Where do I begin...

So I'm not the only one around here with the "other models" after all...

Yeah the 2002/3.0/6XX owners really do need to band together and let the kids know that BMW built other 2 door cars aside from the 3 and the 8... beacuse honestly with out us there would be no MOTORSPORTS division. They need to remember the old gods.

Hope this "Vintage" forum does you all some good. I am a big fan of 02s and earlier BMWs, looking at a 02 right now for a project car.

Please get some traffic to this newly added section and I am sure it can turn into something very worthwhile!

Wasn't just my doing, we collectively decided it was worthwhile. I agree the traffic won't be huge but I think we can get enough worthwhile discussion to warrant the section stays.

BTW I am moving over older posts that are "vintage" related so you all may have view more past history to pull some of the older ones up.

Lets make this one of the best and most informative sections on DTM...

Yeah I remember you.. I'll do a write up on both of them... I'm at work right now and listing mods would take to long.... There's alot of them.... so many I hate totalling it up as my checkbook gets queezy...

Another 02 owner here. I have a '72 2002 that i'm currently restoring and doing a full race buildup on. I just wish I had more time to actually work on her...
My current plans for the car are a 8-point roll cage, 2.5L (EVO3) S14 engine swap, E30 M3 rear suspension & drivetrain, coilovers, and a custom "works" style widebody kit (think old CSL Batmobile racecar). Here's a couple of sneak peak photos of the test fitment of the engine:

The box is an authentic BMW GMBH carbon fiber DTM airbox complete with additional fuel injector bosses molded into the bottom side of the runners.
She should be quite a beast once i'm done with her....
