The E90 is ALL THAT AND A BAG OF CHIPS

Just came back from the Ride & Drive introduction event for the E90 where we learned pretty much everything you can about the car and got to flog both the 325i and 330i around several autocross courses.

Photos of the E90 simply do not do the car justice. For all those who say different, stop being so close minded. The car literally looks like a revised E46 - plain and simple.

Many have said the new 330i can run with the E36 M3 and those who doubted this claim better be prepared to eat your words and take the doubt elsewhere. The 330i has an unprecedented 255HP!!!! What's even better is that the full 220lb/ft of torque is all available at a measly 2750 RPM!!! You all know what that means and if you don't, you really need bone up on your automotive knowledge.

Trust me when I say that the E90 330i WILL BEAT an E36 M3 in performance, stock vs. stock.

The new sport package seats are absolutely AMAZING. Side bolster adjustments allow anyone of any size to make that seat do what it needs to do - hold you in place. I would even go so far to say that they are more comfortable than the E46 M3 seats.

Oh, and we really took these cars to the limit. And if we were too hesitant, the professional drivers there definitely were not timid. Full on 10/10ths. And the E90 took it all in stride. Handling is phenomenal. The new DSC system with all the new adaptive braking features removes much of the nose dive on hard braking, the new 2-point front suspension and 5-link rear suspension do a fantastic job of keeping the car planted on even the hardest of turns.

And for those who are going to retort with a simple, "I don't care, it's still ugly" you have not given the car more than a glance or two or have not even seen it in person. In any case, just go drive it. It is all that and a bag of chips. I would take the new E90 330i over the E46 330i every day of the week and twice on sundays. And you all know (or should know) how much of a proponent of the E46 I am so that is saying something.

THIS is how good the E90 is. If they did this with the E90 I cannot wait to see the E92 (coupe/convertible).

What's so different arround the dash? Any new features besides the seats?(as far as electronic stuff).
Is it true that it has more room then the E46 (interior)?

Now, before you go crazy, IDrive is an option on the E90.

But for those that continually complain how "idiotic" iDrive is then the only thing idiotic is yourselves because it couldn't be easier to use with the new design.

Some may dislike the dual cowl design that comes with the iDrive but it's quite effective in combating the sunglare that posed a problem with the Navigation screen on the E46.

One thing I must say I am not liking is the fact they are moving away from designing the interior directly FOR the driver. The center console is still ever so slightly canted towards the driver but it's nearly indiscernible.

The dash has changed dramaticaly, but not completely, but even after like 30 years they finally changed the font of the numbers on the speedo/tach/etc. It has push button start/stop, the steering wheel and A/C vents are placement of everything is pretty much the same as the E46's, the radio/Climate controls look different, and the climate has the "heat at rest" feature (when its cold outside and u turn the car off, when activated, it utilizes the engine compartment heat to keep the interior warm for a certain amount of time), bluetooth technology, and active cruise control. I saw the new shipment at Taylor BMW here in Augusta, I actually really like the interior, however I am partial to the E36's interior layout as it give the driver a more "in control" feel. Exterior looks good, but the rear taillights are gonna have to grow on me...for a while.

yes, this car truly is the shit. I got a chance last week to test drive the 330i, and it was wonderful. Faster than I expected, and felt very refined. I wish I could get one.....
