honestly... id take my e36 over it any day...opinion noted...
After further inspection at the dealership... I mean They way I measure a cars asthetics is its pleasure of appeal from all angles. THis the E90 "to me" does not have this.

Point one... BMW's design Philsopphy... of FLAME SURFACING to me completely abandons the traditional BMW asthetic (Fuck how u spell that word)...6-series withstanding...and the newly more conventionaly tweaked 7... i feel they are leaving behind a loyal consumer base that held a general expectation of the look ...Not feel cuz as is commonly stated performance is far superior...undisputed...but the look of clean lines and power, yet subtle aggression is lost.

The e90s roof and window give it poor posture...and a less powerful stance. that side angle shot above is one of the more glorifying pics ive ever seen of it. DOes it a decent bit of justice... but fromt he side... its EHHH...

THe trunk, tail, and tail lights are an atrocious DOWNGRADE in styling from the e46 yes yes in my Opinion that is... i mean none of it looks cohesive...none of the lines flow to make a form that wowww's u. The headlights arent near as bad as i'd thought theyd be in person...and the front bumper isnt horrible either... per some aftermarket companies ingenious reworking...u could come up with a car that isnt to bad lookin fromt he front only

I like how you people say the e90>e36M3. MAgazines have claimed to test its 0-62mph in 6.3 seconds. How does that compare to the e36 m3 at 0-62mph in 5.6 sec???? Not only that the e30 m3 and e36 WILL ALWAYS have more "roadfeel" than any bmw out there.Learn your stats before you speak. Im out ,peace

I've heard it's in the mid-5s from people I know at BMW of Roswell here in Georgia. In addition, the torque curve is much fatter, the throttle is livelier, and the addition of the new rear suspension gives the back end extra stability, whereas the front has the same feel.

In the end, unless you have both or have driven both, it's still just hearsay. So, you're no better than the person you're berrating.

Can anyone who's driven both speak up? I know there's a few people who have done so either here or bf.c.

stop bashing and crapping on the BMW's already guys.
it's a new family line, and it should only get better if the BMW manufactures know what they are doing.
and I am assuming they do.

it's not like it's a Honda accord or toyota camry.
so..shut up already with "how is the E90 suposed to better then the older models like E36 and E46?" and such. thanks.

seriously, it's not like people have actually test driven the car and looked at it from an objective point of view. bmws have always been about the drive. whether you like the look of a 2002 or a CSi or an E30 or an E60, they all have something similar in common, they are drivers cars. they are sporty and they just beg you to put your right foot down. they might now always be the best looking cars, but sometimes ugly is a good thing.

the new E90 might not be the best looking car. it might not be the fastest or the cheapest or the best handling around a track. however, though it's not spectacular at any given tast, it does all tasks well. it is truely a car for all seasons. a jack of all trades (and even a master of a few).

so get off your high horses and take a step back and look at the car for what it is: evolution. get rid of the bad stuff, make the ok stuff better, and above all else, make sure the car is a driver's car. the E90 does all these things in spades and anyone who has taken a test drive will see this. instead of tearing apart the bmw community from the inside because you don't like a car, learn why bmw did what they did. instead of ignorent car bashing; read, learn, and debate. even if you don't like what they did, you have to respect the car for what it is: a bmw.

yeah.
common problems on E36's.
dead water pump. i'll list that one thing, you E36 drivers know what I mean.
and i don't think E46 or E90 would have that problem now would they?
stop the bashing now.

Do you guys remember what they said about the e36 when it came out? I do they said they looked like econoboxes... the e30 was deemed too "radical of a design" when it came out... When they released the e30 m3 people had a fit thinking it was way over the top...in fact.. every time bmw changes people bitch. I like em I think it is a good progression for bmw and when I test drove one last week, I parked my e30 right next to a black one and saw that progression. If you do not change with the times you will die.. just like the x3, x5, and "minivan" bmw will appeal to the masses as well as it can to fund the cool cars that you and I drool over and wish we could own right now. I can honestly say that they still answer to their customers and diehard believers as well. I understand its your own opinion, but be glad that there are still BMW desingers who have to fit a BMW motor in the BMW chassis and make the BMW kidneys stand out. They are still self owned, and hopefully will stay that way. Tell you one thing there is no other car on the road as distinctive as the new 3. Except the 6, 5, 7, 1, shit even thier motorcycles and scooters ooze style. Well maybe not their scooters, but more style than most!

actually their scooters do stand out.
what other car company makes scooters?
and one of the best looking lux motor cycles are made from BMW.
they may not have the best performing motors for the croatch rockets like Honda and Yamaha and Sukuzi, but atleast it's on top of it's game on it's goals.

don't bash on me for driving a Honda Accord.
it's near too damn comfortable, and wasn't my choice of car.
a BMW wound't have been my choice of car at this age any ways.
Insurance Cost would pwn me fucking hard core all the way up to my stomach at this age. any ways...

BMW > then the list is too hard to make, but it's between Audi, Benz, Honda, Nissan.

yes..as said below my user name..I am DTM/JDM freak.

My buddy has an 06 330i. I went to his house yesterday and he told me to take it for a ride, I was gone for 1 1/2 hours It was awesome. His is an automatic w/ steptronic manual. I know that I would prefer it in a 6 speed.
