E46 M3 vs M5, who will win from a stop?

I think I read somewhere that the E46 M3 1/4 mile time is 13.1, I'm not sure what the M5 is running but I would think it is very close? Which car would win? How about a SMGII M3, would it dominate?

It would come down to the driver. If the drivers were equal I think that the M5 would win by a fraction of a hair. The fastest Magazine time I've seen is 13.0 for the M5 and 13.1 for the M3...both from Motor Trend. The are pretty equal tho....really would depend on the condition of the car and the driver.

SMG??? who knows, I would think that the M3 might be a bit fast cause of its lightning speed shifting capabilities.

I say it would be about equal. But with SMGII the M3 would take it. Apparently Schuey (M.) can shift a manual at .5 and SMGII shifts at .08 or something. So...
