question for M3 convertible owners

i'm thinking of lowering my car but i don't want to do anything too drastic. in the past i've lowered my rides using coilovers or shock/spring set, however, this time around i'm very happy with the way the M3 convertible handles and rides stock. i wouldn't mind lowering it a 3/4-1 inch all around for pure looks, but i don't want to ruin the balance the factory settings have. i'd appreciate any info from people who have done this. the search function didn't return anything relevant.
