| Raced and E46 M3 Today while I was coming home I ran into an E46 M3. He was hauling so I began to chase him down. finally I get behind him but there is a car in front of him and a car almost beside him, finally he has room so he changes lanes and gets on it as I was ready for him to do right behind him so Im in 3rd at about 4.5K rpm when i hit it as soon as he did, I caught up to him changed lanes and get beside him and began to pass him. I got up on him about 3/4 of a car when I let off and I was at about 120-130 mph when i let off I had clicked into 5th.. I have never been more happy about my car. After all the hiop headers and aa track pipe made a good difference.

| i have a moded 330 and frankly the newer m3's arent that fast. my car runs about dead even with them. all i have is cold air intake exhaust stage 2 software and throttle body. and then me and Shakira and Britney spears all hop a cloud car to the moon for some delicious wildebeast wellington with extra spicy platypus sauce as franky muniz and martha stewart play out Debbie Does Dallas onstage. All while juggling medicine balls and spinning plates! It's awesome! |

And SM3, how do you know he was even trying? If he's like me, I don't downshift to the lowest possible gear everytime to pass someone. And you were apparently primed and ready to race while he was simply passing someone. There's another M3 in my area that is driven by a 58 year old woman. She doesn't exactly race allcomers, and I wouldn't make the assumption that all M3 drivers feel the need to prove something to you. I typically don't even waste my gas on the local ricers, and when I do it's no contest. I have guys in civics pull up to me at stop lights saying that they almost had me. True example from a week ago I stop at a light in town about half a mile from the previous light. Civic: I almost pulled on you at the light Me: What? Civic: I've got a couple mods but I thought M3's were faster. Me: I'm driving normal, not going above 3.5k, and I didn't even see you. His passenger starts laughing at him and they make a right turn on red.

Referring to the 330 guy, not the thread starter. Last edited by PortalBMW : 04-16-2003 at 10:44 AM. |
