E46 m3 aceleration yea i have never acually been in an me when someone really guns it. i'v driven a Z06. driven a aero 911. but i have never gotten behind an m3(well and e46 m3 to be exact). i have heard crazy stories about how quick they are but what does it feel like?? is comparable to the Z06 or the 911? thanks

It definitely isn't as fast as the Z06. Can't even come close to the 911 TT. But with a regular 911, I dunno. I'm not quite sure of the specs on the regular 911. The E46 M3 does 0-60 in 4.8 seconds

Based on the numbers the E46 M3 would seem to be a little faster than the standard 911 up to 60 mph. However, a lot of what is perceived as acceleration is actually psychological - exhaust noise, wind noise, roughness, the front of the car rising up, etc. can all make the acceleration feel faster or slower than it actually is. stjobs

well. it's all driver. I've beaten a Z06 w/my E46 M3. (No flames, I have a witness)- the guy obviously couldn't drive. Beat him in 3rd gear. He was ahead of me by a door until then.

| no he wasnt talking about the old body c36, he was talking about the new C32 its supercharged. i think the 43 is around the 5-6 range tho, 302 hp

C32 is quick. No doubt. 0-60 in less than 5, 1/4mile in less than 13.3, and it shifts faster than you or me (though not as fast as SMGII). Chances are unless you're an EXCELLENT driver, the E46 will lose to a C32. No offense but if I had to put money a race, I'd bet on the C32. Too much going for it guys. That boost (torque) comes on too soon for the E46M3 to compete.

No doubt the newer AMGs are awesome cars. Also, their styling has remained undeniably elegant, unlike the newer BMWs (6 and 7 series, new 330 sedan) ![]() I am seriously considering an AMG S55 or C32 for my next car, even though I am fairly faithful to BMW. stjobs Last edited by stjobs : 11-25-2002 at 04:59 PM.
