E46 M3 engine for sale But question

could this fit inside of an e36 engine bay.. just woundring.. could an engine swap with this be possable..

I would assume it is possible. I mean, it's an I6 also. One of them members in Australia fitted a 95 540 V8 in his E36, so I'm pretty sure the E46 M engine would fit in an E36

The only area that fittment might be an issue is the hood. The S54 Motor is slightly taller, hense the hood bulge of the E46. The real difficulty will be getting the engine wired up to the E36 car's electrical system. That has been the limiting factor for most enthusiasts that want to do the swap. It becomes prohibitively expensive to retro fit.

The austion is over now but did that engine go for $3500? That seems really low to me.

I think 3500 isa great deal.. that block is brand new.. all he has to do is clean it and re cover it.. I wish i had a E46 i would def drop that eng in that car.. and by the way he said he had three.
