just like why people want to buy an 86 AE86, even people has a
soup up WRX or IS300 at home....same reason...person taste...

i just jizz every time i hear that e46's motor rev... the e36 doesnt give me that same sensation... if i had the money id stick with the e46, but not by a large margin.

I know what your saying. Running the E46 up to 7000+ RPMs in 1st, 2nd & 3rd is a blast. Maybe I should just bag the four doors...

That would be a pretty big deterrent! From what I've seen the E36 M-engines were pretty realiable?

That only seems to be a real issue with Oct - Dec 01 build cars. Others have failed but at a much lower rate. The hope is that the problem has been partially or completely resolved in the latest build cars. Time will tell.
