The only E36 and E46 M3 I've ever ridden in were convertibles...and the E46 handeled 10 times better! It did have 19's though!

10x better? Yeah right! Maybe if you were actually driving the cars instead of just riding in them, you could make a better judgement.

Although I haven't driven an e46 M3, from what I hear, it feels substantially heavier than the e36 and tends to understeer more compared to the neutral handling of the e36 M3.

Of course the e36 is the better handler. Old news.

The e46 recently placed like 7th out of an 8 car handling shootout, wherein much "lesser" cars out-handled it.

By stark contrast, a few years ago the e36 placed first when stacked-up aginst Ferrari, Porsche, NSX, Vette, Viper, etc.

The e46 is a bit of a "bust". I'd MUCH rather have a euro 3.2 e36.

They just don't make'em like they used to . . .

The E46 isn't as rigid as the E36. With me driving, the E36 WILL handle better.

If you thought the e36 understeered drive an e46 its pig, very heavy. The e36 has a light and nimble feeling, not the e46. My e36 is neutral finally, but it took some mods.

Just to clarify:

255 R comps at all four corners, 3100lbs, Koni DA custom coilovers from GC, solid monoball bushings, 280 hp, lots of camber.

I killed an e46 M3 on the track earlier this year.

However, once the E46 M3 is better developed by race teams and parts trickle out to consumers and the car is lightened, it'll likely stomp the E36 M3. But, until then. . .

Well, I suppose then I'll have to add more hp and a shorter rear diff to even up things.

Sean, yeah, I'm there.

Looks like I'll find a way to fit Scho's exhaust he's buying from me (AA) and an extra set of R comps that he'll be able to break his cherry on.

I'm gunning for some killer lap times.
