Oakland... what motor you got? 323 right? hmm... cheapest motor available in the US on an E46... sry but full price is i know that when working you want to make the most $, but when buying you want to spend the least... and if you can spend less without any major problems, and the seller doesnt care too much, why wouldnt you try to spend less? it's stupid to pay MSRP... i got my 330 for $41ish, about $2500 off MSRP

as long as the dealer makes money, what do they care? if you pay $1000 over invoice for just putting the order throught n shyt they make $1000 for doing very little... especially when you move 10+ cars in 1 shot... that's a little extra work done by the consumer, that saves them money and sells more cars... by offering the group buy at a discounted price the dealer sells more of the product, which the might not have sold if it were not for the group buy....

Yeah you're absolutely right. Unfortunately it was the ONLY motor available when I got the car 3 years ago. I was driving an E46 when you didn't even know it was available. Sorry buddy, your argument and your clowning didn't work this time. I have Dinan'd it out and still doesnt have much to offer. You'll realize this with your 330. This is why I'm trading it this weekend.

BTW, I was talking on a business owner stand point not on the buyer side. Buyers can do anything they want INCLUDING crying about a price that they can't get. For me its not worth my time to sit at a dealership floor and sob over the price while the cheesy sales man plays with your time and money. I just wont subject my self to that. BUT TO some of you, its worth it. There is no arguement here. If you want to bargain and cry about price go ahead. It's just not for me.

I think you are just expressing your opinion, which is exactly what I did when this tread started. Then all other cheap bastards jumped on it. Anyway, bargaining is not for me, Ok, if you like to cry about price then that's your perogative. I just dont see my self subject to that kind of trouble. If I like it and the price is there, then I buy it.

well your in the bay area. prices for everything is inflated there.

dealers mark up cars and small townhouses go for $600k there.

I guess you are just conditioned to overpay for things.

I do all my negotiations over the phone.

When I go into the dealer I am usually in and out with a car within 2 hrs. Me step in the front door, check out the car, test drive the car, do the paper work, drive away.

when the E36 M3 first came out I bought one right between MSRP and invoice. Everyone was paying MSRP or over.

S54 M coupe, $8k below MSRP.

NSX 20% off msrp.

etc etc etc

I average a new car once a year.

Think about it this way... Say you save $5k on a car by spending 3 hours on the phone calling dealers. Isnt that worth it?

If you can make a few thousand dollars in 3 hours, then its not worth your time..

If you CANNOT make a few thousand dollars in 3 hours then its definately worth the time to call around and make the best deal you can get.

You probably are loaded with money so saving a few thousand dollars is not a big deal to you...

Loaded = Not at all

I like to save money as well. I just don't like to Bargain. It's not worth my time. THIS IS MY WHOLE ARGUEMENT. I DONT LIKE TO BARGAIN. For some reason haters on this board think that is stupid.

And yes prices are inflated in the Bay Area, this is why I buy my cars in Sacramento.

what you all need to do is STFU. Oakland is whining about paying full price, and the others are whining about why should they?

Well, here's my rant. You're all f*cking rich, and shouldn't whine at all. I don't care what you pay for a car, but the fact that i can't afford a new car each year pisses me off, and you are all pissing me off. But... I'm also a student in HS so, it makes sense... A new BMW each year is in my planner But the fact that i need to save my money to buy my car, because my parents aren't going to pay a dime for me except insurance, angers me. You all need to cool down, and just buy your cars.
